- Don't forget that once the Power Amiga hits the market, the A1200+ will
- be the official low end for at least 2 years before they will have a low
- end Power Amiga out. The A4000t will still be around for Toaster
- purposes and by then with an '060 in it until Newtek develops either an
- adapter to convert the instruction codes for the Toaster on the fly to
- PowerPC code or make a PowerPC/PCI toaster.
-
- By working on the A1200 now bringing it up to a semi reasonable state
- with the A1200+ will mean them saving money on working on a new lowend
- for a couple of years. If done right would also start generating
- software to work on the Power Amiga and start building a following to
- upgrade to the Power Amiga when it comes out.
-
- I just hope AT stress that in the future the software not only has to
- work on the lowend (the ones wrote for it) but also on the highend also
- unlike many games and demos today which require patches in order to get
- them to work on the A4000.
-
- Also by the time the Power Amiga comes out, I think they should forget
- about creating a low end machine the following year OR create the lowend
- machine and keep the first Power Amiga as the middle machine and create a
- new highend machine using newer PPC chips at the time driving performance
- over 300 MHz.
